Laura A. Ward, 41, went to be with the Lord at 11:00 am on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on August 20, 1968 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Jim & Kathy (David) Menke.
She married Terry G. Ward on November 9, 1991 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. He survives.
Laura was a cash handling supervisor for patient's accounts at Gateway Regional Hospital. She is a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. She loved Civil War Reenactments, history, pets and the 5 A's, and camping.
In addition to her husband and her parents of Bethalto, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen & Kim Menke of Godfrey; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John & Sharon (Melton) Ward of Bunker Hill; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Aaron & Teri Ward of Bethalto and Scott & Kristi Ward of Roxana and 7 nieces and nephews, Brennan, Noah, Brayden, Bryleigh, Tyler, Kaylee and Nikolas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with a prayer service at 4 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
