Donald L. Warner, age 85, passed away on January 16, 2010 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton, Il. He was born in Alton, Il. on February 23, 1924 son of Theodore and Ida (Schmitt) Warner.
He was married to Eva L. Hubbard in Alton, Il. on August 1, 1947. She survives. Donald was employed by the Alton School District 11 as a teacher for 40 yrs. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, Il. where he was the Church Organist. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and softball. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by two daughters; Clair and her spouse Alex Smiley of Roxanna, Il. and Carolyn Mahan of Wood River, Il. two sons; Paul Warner and his partner Tim Kisabeth of Godfrey, Il. and Keith Warner of Godfrey, Il. five grandchildren; Steven Rodgers, Donald Rodgers, Timothy Rodgers Nicholas Warner, and Ann Norris Bell, four sisters; Margaret Akers of Washington, Mo. Ruth Owens of Fenton, Mo. Doris and her spouse Wayne Calhoun of Brighton, Il. and Lois and her spouse Harold Wall of Creve Cour, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial service will be at 2 pm Saturday January 23, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, Il. Pastor Kelly Mitteis will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the Donald Warner Family. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey will be in charge of arrangements.
