Thomas G. Ahrling, 71, passed away at 8:55 am January 18, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 25, 1938 in Alton, the son of Joseph T. & Mary (Peers) Ahrling.
He was a veteran of the Army, he went to work as an electrician for Owen's Illinois Glass Manufacturing and retired in 1994, and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Strack of Alton; one brother, John Ahrling of Godfrey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Kube and Betty Stutzman.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be 9:00 am until 9:40 am Monday January 25, 2010 at Staten- Fine Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday at January 25, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Chris Uhl OMV celebrating. Burial will follow St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton.
He entered into eternal rest fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church. Memorials may be made to Masses at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.
