Margary Lucinda Varner Bryan, 92, passed away at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at University Manor in Edwardsville. The daughter of Edgar and Myrtle (Arnold) Varner, she was born on November 1, 1917 in Bond County, Ill.
She married Kenneth V. Bryan on May 5, 1942 in St. Charles, Mo. He died Feb. 21, 2009.
Survivors include three children, Larry (Phyllis Hill) Bryan of Rosewood Heights, Linda (Mike) Scroggins of Troy, and Debbie )George) Hensley of Wood River; six grandchildren, Emily Bryan, Paul (Theresa) Scroggins, Kathy (Bob) Beloit, Casey (Kurt) Davis, Kenny and Will Scroggins; five great grandchildren, Cindy and Lindsey Scroggins, Bryan Beloit, and Kalyn and Kensey Davis.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Whiteside; three brothers, Andrew, Ernest, and Edward Varner; and two great grandsons, Harrison Acord and Jackson Davis.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, and will continue at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, Ill. Monday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Robert Beloit will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento. Memorials may be made to S. Louis Children's Hospital or Heartland Hospice.
