David W. Walker, 70 passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at 9:43 am at his home unexpectedly. He was born November 19, 1939 in Mattoon, IL. to the late Wilbur and Ruth (Granneman) Walker.
Dave married his wife Rosalind on March 24, 1963. She survives. David was an engineer at Illinois Bell from 1962 till his retirement in 1993. He was a past president and member of the Alton Godfrey Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Ressurection Lutheran Church in Godfrey, Il and the Lockhaven Country Club in Godfrey, Il.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter; Angie Moan, of Godfrey, Il. two grandchildren; Walker Moan of Godfrey, Il. and Cecilia Moan of Godfrey, Il. his mother; Ruth Walker of Mattoon Il. and a brother; Robert Walker of Mattoon, Il. He was preceded in death by his father, and a son Mark Walker.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL. Funeral service will be 11 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey, Il. with the Reverend Kenneth Tegtmeier officiating. Burial will be at Godfrey Cemetery, Godfrey, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey, IL. or the Alton Godfrey Rotary Club, Piasa Foundation.
