Jerry E. Holbert, 63, passed away at 5:10 am on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born on July 3, 1946 in Kennett, Missouri, son of Nelson "Skinny" & Alba (Jones) Holbert.
He first married Roberta Taylor of Greenview, MO and she survives. He then married Connie A (Howell) Holbert in 1980 at the Roxana Presbyterian Church. She passed away December 17, 1998. Later he married Pat (Hubbard) Holbert on September 8, 2001 in Wood River. She survives.
Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the Senior Vice President of operations at National Maintenance & Repair for many years. He attended the Bethalto United Methodist and was a member of the Wood River Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer and a Mizzou fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Jason & Deana Holbert of Wentzville, MO, Rob & Laura Royse of Wood River, and Dawn Hubbard of Wood River; two grandchildren, Mitchell and Nolan Royse of Wood River; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce & Bill Anderson of Senath, MO; his in-laws, Lonnie & Fern Smith of Hartford; a brother-in-law and his spouse, Gary & Barbara Smith of Chatham and several nieces and nephews,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 15 2009 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 with Rev. John Tennyson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Bethalto United Methodist Church Building Fund.
