Anna "Ann" Marie Miller, age 87, passed away at 12:10 am, Friday November 6, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born in Denver, CO on August 7, 1922, the daughter of Thure and Hattie (Haberkorn) Carlberg.
Ann married Raymond Glen Miller on September 3, 1944 in Yuma AZ He preceded her in death on November 28, 1971.
She was employed as a secretary for the Alton School District for 32 yrs. at the Fosterburg and Thomas Jefferson Elementary schools. Ann was a life long resident of the Alton area, as she has resided in Alton for over 60 yrs. She was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church of Fosterburg, and the Order of Eastern Star #775. She liked to travel, work in her garden, and cook. Her greatest love was being with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters and their spouses; Carol and Victor Palomino of Normal, IL. and Nancy and Andy Batchelor of Alton, Il. One son; Gary Miller of East Alton, Il. four grandchildren; Jeffrey and his spouse Susan Palomino, Catye Palomino, Jennifer and her spouse Troy DeFranco, and Mark and his spouse Tara Batchelor, nine great-grandchildren, Julia Palomino, Jordan Palomino, Elena Palomino, Ben Palomino, Isabela Palomino, Madisyn DeFranco, Devin DeFranco, Paige Batchelor, and Maggie Batchelor, one brother and his spouse; Alex and Friede Carlberg of Tucson, AZ. two sisters; Helen Allen of Norfolk, VA, and Betty Harding of Tucson, AZ. and one sister-in-law, Roberta Carlberg of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and her spouse, Jean and Sammie Hammond, a brother-in-law and his spouse, Clyde and Marilyn Miller, and a Sister-in-law Eileen Miller.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, and one brother; Bill Carlberg.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm, on Sunday November 8, 2009 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL. Funeral Services will be at 10 am, Monday, November 9, 2009 at Zion Presbyterian church in Fosterburg, with the Rev. Mark Stone officiating.
Burial will follow at the Fosterburg Cemetery, in Fosterburg, IL.
