Claregene Calvey

Claregene Calvey, 81, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton. Born September 18, 1928 in Alton, she was the daughter of Charles and Iva (Booth) Wilkinson. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. On July 6, 1947 in Alton, she married Jack Calvey Sr. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1976. Surviving are two daughters; Michele Buchanan and her husband Terry of Brighton, and Kathy Green of Alton, two sons; Jack Calvey Jr. and his wife Amy of Fort Worth, TX, and Walter Calvey Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, 13 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Amy Adams, six great grandchildren including a special great granddaughter, Courtney Adams, and two brothers; Jack Wilkinson of Carrollton, and Ron Wilkinson and his wife Becky of Cottontown, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Father Delix Michel will officiate. She will be buried with her husband's cremains at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
