Joan Laird, 72, passed away at 8:02 PM Thursday October 15, 2009 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born September 28, 1937 in Raysel, WV the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Bryant) Lyle
She married SSGT. Robert Laird, he preceded her in death.
She was the Head Cook at Village Inn in Alton for years.
Joan is survived by a son and his wife Steven and Lois Laird of Alton, one sister Bon Foster of Ohio, two grandchildren Loribeth and husband Keith Westbrook, Sgt. Christopher Padgett and his wife Cherilyn, six great grandchildren Schelle, Erin, and Andrew Westbrook, Nadia, Sydney and Myles Padgett.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband and one sister and two brothers.
In accordance with her wishes cremation rites where accorded. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday October 18, 2009 at 147 E. 5th St. Roxana, IL from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m
