Lois Crisp

Lois Hayes Crisp, 94, passed away at 9:14 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Anthony's Health Center on what would have been her 66th wedding anniversary to her husband Gayle B. Crisp. Born January 31, 1915 in Lyon County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ira and Nannie (Browning) McDonald. She grew up in Alton and worked for Western Cartridge and for Owens Illinois Glass. She married Gayle B. Crisp on October 5, 1943 in Alton. He preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Crisp left Alton in 1947 and returned to the area in October 2008. She was a member of the Rosebower Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky. Surviving is a sister, Mary Jane Naaktgeboren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers; Robert McDonald, James E. McDonald, and Niles McDonald in infancy. There will be no local services. Burial will be at a later date in Kentucky. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of local arrangements.
