Willard C. Bruce, 96, passed away at 10:58 am, Friday September 25, 2009 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
He was born on March 5, 1913 in Ridgeway, IL, the son of Orval P. and Ida (Jerrells) Bruce.
He married the former Bernice Eddington and she preceded him in death.
Willard worked for Shell Oil Company in the Research Lab for over 25 years. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a member of the Godfrey Senior Citizen and a former President of the Board of the Bank of Alton.
He is survived by one nephew and his wife Larry and Bobbi Bruce of St. Charles, MO
In addition to his parents, and wife he was preceded in death by one brother Alexander Bruce.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday September 29, 2009 at 10 am at Valhalla Memorial Park.
