Jeanne L. Walters, 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 7:17 am at her home.

She was born on December 7, 1933 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Edward & Mildred (Brinkmann) Osseck.

She married Robert "Bob" Walters on May 19, 1956 at St. Louis Cathedral. He survives.

Jeanne prayed the Rosary daily and went to daily Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed animals, especially her dogs and cats, she loved to play and coach tennis, gardening and watching her children and grandchildren play sports

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by nine children and spouses, Robert Jr. of Alton, Jim & Angela Walters of Normal, IL, Theresa & Dave Logan of Godfrey, Linda & Justin Scheiter of Godfrey, Tom & Megan Walters of Chatham, IL, Michael & Polly Ann Walters of Godfrey, Carolyn & Bob McCluskey of Godfrey, Mary Armstrong of Suwanee, GA, and David & Karen Walters of Godfrey, twenty one grandchildren, Jacob, Ellen and Jonathon Walters, Robert, Christopher & Patrick Logan, Sydney, Sam and Jackson Scheiter, Matthew and Ryan Walters, Hannah, Nathan and Meredith Walters, Andrew and Daniel McCluskey, Alex, Ethan and Liesa Armstrong, Valerie and Nina Walters; one sister, Marilyn Reilly of Yuba City, CA.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by, one brother, Edward Anthony Osseck.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm Monday, September 21, 2009 at St Mary's Catholic Church, 519 E. 4th Street, Alton, IL..

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 23, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Father Shawn Monahan OMV celebrating.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Adoration Chapel, William M. BeDell ? ARC, St. Mary's Catholic School or Marquette Catholic High School.
