Dorothy A. "Dottie" England, 79, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2009 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Jan. 20, 1930 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Eugene Allen and Martha J. (Hessel) Jordan.
She married James England Nov. 27, 1964 in Edwardsville. He survives.
A homemaker, she was a Past President of the VFW Post #2859 Ladies Auxiliary and loved bowling, Bingo, and sewing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gary Reynolds and his partner Pam Saylor of Hartford, and Terry Reynolds and his wife Mary of Pekin, Ill.; stepchildren, Gwen Corgan and her husband Steve of St. Louis and Jay and Debbie England of Edwardsville; 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven England; and a brother, Eugene Jordan.
Visitation will be Thursday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 5 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 7 p.m. The Rev. Janet Riley will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
