Elizabeth Schroer, 90, passed away 9:13 pm Sunday September 6, 2009 at home.
She was born in Alton on March 1, 1919, the daughter of Mike & Mildred (Scott) Rider.
She married Sylvester Schroer and he preceded her in death.
She retired from J.C. Penny from the Jewelry department and volunteered at Christian Hospital Northeast.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Clyde "Morris" & Brenda Harris of Pawnee, IL; three grandchildren, Mark Harris, Beth Wilson, and Barclay Harris, seven great grandchildren; and one brother and two sisters-in-law, George & Delores Rider of Bethalto, and Marnie Harris of Minnesota.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Harris.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of funeral services at 11:30 am Friday September 11, 2009 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Rev. Jack Hembree officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
