Rosemary I. Ohley, 88, passed away at 12:45 pm Friday August 28, 2009 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, IL
She was born on February 5, 1921, in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Charles E. and Florence (Hetge) Schmitt.
Rosemary married Harold Ohley on January 17, 1947 he preceded her in death on November 6, 1989.
She attended the Alton schools, graduating from Alton High School, she then attended Monticello College. During World War II she joined the Women's Army Corp. Her service duty was on three South Pacific Islands. She was a secretary and sometimes a jeep chauffer for the Officers.
A son Steven C. Ohley of Florida, a brother and his wife Robert and Melba Schmitt of Godfrey, a sister in law Berna Ohley of Alton, three grandsons Nick, Charles and Jason Ohley, three great grandsons and several nieces and a nephew, survives Rosemary.
In addition to her parents, and husband a son Thomas H. Ohley preceded her in death. .
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded, she wanted no services with burial at a later date at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
