Dossie Elmore, 82, passed away at 1:45 pm Tuesday July 28, 2009 at home with his family by his side.
He was born on August 31, 1926 in Camden, TN the son of Finis & Dolly Mary (Lewis) Elmore.
He married Betty Jean Sansom on March 27, 1950 in Corinth, MS. She survives.
He retired from Laclede Steel Company as a crane operator.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three daughters; Gloria Jean Clark of Alton, Dorothy Kay Mick of Bethalto and Sandra Fay Kessmann of Moro; five grandchildren, Nikki & Ashley Clark, Andy, Adam, and Alexis Mick; three great grandchildren, Michael McDonald, Jordan and Alea; and several brothers & sisters.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
In celebration of his life, memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday August 1, 2009 at the Kessman's residence, 6422 Black Rail Dr. Moro, IL (Meadowbrook).
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
