Norman B. Grindstaff, 93, passed away at 5:29 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009.

He was born Jan. 23, 1916 in Zelma, Mo., the son of John and Louella (Boyd) Parker.
His marriage to Oneta L. Snider took place in Marble Hill, Mo. on Aug. 19, 1939. She survives.
A foreman and machine operator for Owens-Illinois Glass, he retired in 1980 after 40 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Louise Grindstaff of Baird, Tex., Jack and Patty Grindstaff of Dow, and Michael and Debbie Grindstaff of Woodburn; three grandchildren, Matt Grindstaff, Linda Rhodes and her husband Earl, and David Grindstaff and his wife Amanda; five great grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Lena Grindstaff of East Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jewel Grable and Ethel Grindstaff; and three brothers, Everett, Hassel, and Verdell Grindstaff.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 19 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Rev. Dan Smith will officiate services at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
