Turner Heater Jr., 90, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 12, 1918 in Eddyville, Kentucky. He retired from Laclede Steel in Alton as a warehouse foreman.
On May 19, 1939 in Eddyville, KY, he married the former Lorene Frizzell. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2003. Surviving are two daughters; Carla Ballard and her husband Eric of St. Charles, MO, and Ruth Ford and her husband Jerry of Godfrey, two grandchildren; Doug Lovell of Alton, and Danielle Elliott of Godfrey, a great grandchild, Donnie E. Elliott of Godfrey, and a sister, Marylynn McWaters of Alton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Robert "Bob" Heater, a grandson, Kenneth Heater, and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Reverend Tom Olney will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the American Cancer Society.
