Lucille M. Schulte, 93, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Eldercare of Alton.
Born January 31, 1916 in Alton, she was the daughter of Henry and Helena (Held) Kulp.
During WWII she worked at the Olin Corporation and later worked for St. Joseph Hospital retiring after many years of service as supervisor of housekeeping. She was a past member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
On April 23, 1949 in Alton, she married Fred E. Schulte. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1982. Surviving is a brother, Robert Kulp and his wife Mildred of Godfrey, a sister-in-law, Martha L. Kulp of Alton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers; Harry Kulp and Clarence N. Kulp, and three sisters; Bertha Schattner, Rose Eppel, and Helen Bierk.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. Father J.C. Cain will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Masses, or St. Anthony's Hospice.
