Mary Pacatte

Mary E. Pacatte, 88, formerly of Wood River, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab Center in Lebanon.
     Born Jan. 15, 1921 in Farmersville, Ill., she was the daughter of Michael C. and Laura A. (Fitzgerald) Aherin.
     She married Merle J. Pacatte on her birthday in 1948. He passed away May 7, 1999.
     A homemaker, she was an alumni of St. Joseph School of Nursing, a member of the St. Anna Altar Society, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
     She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Denzel Jines of Lebanon; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael Pacatte of Ft. Worth, Tex., Thomas and Kim Pacatte of St. Louis, and Daniel and Leeanne Pacatte of Austin, Tex.; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Pacatte of Springfield, Ill.
     In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Eric Jines, and three brothers, Allan, John, and Lawrence Aherin.
     Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
     Father James Flach will celebrate a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River.
     Burial will follow at Woodland hill Cemetery in East Alton.
     Memorials may be given to Sacred Griffin High School in Springfield, Holy Angels Catholic Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.
