Dartha Goen

Dartha Viola Goen, 89, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at St. Clare's in Alton. Born June 28, 1919 in Elsah, IL, she was the daughter of Henry R. and Mamie V. (Johnson) Goen. She retired in 1978 from the packaging department at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton after 35 years of service. She is survived by friends, Barbara and Mike Raya of Alton, Tony Raya of Collinsville and Raquel Kroencke of Quincy, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Cloves "Red" Lewis Goen. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Joseph Havrilka will officiate. Burial will be at Elsah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
