Shawn Sullivan

Jerseyville |

Shawn Patrick "Sully" Sullivan, 48, died unexpectedly at 3:02 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2023, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois with his family at his side.

He was born in Jerseyville on February 24, 1974, and graduated in 1992 from Jersey Community High School.

He married the former Brandi Bohannon on August 1, 1998, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and together they have been blessed with nearly 25 years of marriage, and the joys of their two children.

For many years he owned and operated Sully's Distributing through 7-UP and Dr. Pepper, until February 24, 2012, when he and his wife purchased Sully's Package Liquor in Jerseyville. He valued his employees and customers and felt blessed to have the support and backing of the community.

Sully had a personality bigger than this world, and a heart to match. He was the life of the party, always quick with a good story and a sarcastic wit that was unmatched. His life was blessed with many deep friendships and a family that adored him. He was an amazing husband and dad, and he will forever be missed and always remembered.

He is survived by his wife, Brandi Sullivan of Jerseyville; his two children, Elli Sullivan and Ian Sullivan, both of Jerseyville; his parents, Gayla Taake of Livingston and Nicholas Sullivan of East Alton; two brothers, Jeremiah Sullivan of Ketchikan, Alaska and Travis Sullivan of St. Louis; a sister, Nicole Sullivan of St. Louis; his grandmother, Mildred Sebastian of Jerseyville; his Bohannon family – his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Denny and Sandy Bohannon of Dow; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian and Rebecca Bohannon and sister-in-law, Cassie Kuehnel, all of Jerseyville; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a cherished group of friends.

He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Joshua Newton.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.

Private Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
