Ryan A. Grant, 47 died at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at DePaul Hospital in St. Charles, MO. Born June 24, 1970 in Hillsboro, IL, he was the son of Cathy (Spinner) Grant of Alton and the late Larry Allen Grant. He graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in environmental health. Ryan was a local musician and a loving father to his daughter. On April 24, 1999 he married the former Kristin Wentzel in Downers Grove, IL. She survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Sarah Grant of Alton, a sister, Julie Aschenbrenner (Greg) of Belleville, 3 nieces and 5 nephews and his in-laws, Karen and Raymond Wentzel of Naperville, IL. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. followed by prayers by Reverend Bruce Baumberger on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Private burial will be at a later date at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
