Roberta Jane (Bristow) Crandall, 83, died at 4:15 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at her home. Born November 2, 1933 in Carlinville, IL she was the daughter of Grant and Marie (Scott) Pitman. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Alton and retired from the administrative department for Owens-Illinois Glass in Alton. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, traveling and cooking. She married Donald A. Bristow. He preceded her in death in 2003. She married Richard Aubrey Crandall. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2014. Surviving are two daughters, Melinda (Henry) Grabbe of Godfrey, and Charlotte (Tim) Yinger of Godfrey, three sons, Ron Bristow of Eureka, MO, Melvin (Monica) Bristow of Godfrey, and Terry (Kathy) Bristow of Alton, 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild on the way, and one sister, Margaret Dugger of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Laura Bristow and Paty Bristow, two grandchildren, Donald Bock and Jon Etchison, three brothers, Howard Pitman, Elden Pitman and infant Wendall Pitman, and two sisters, Dorothy Burleson and Thelma Qualls. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Dave Burger will officiate. Burial will be private at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Community Christian Church in Alton.
