Tracy Jean Walker, 45, of Roxana passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was born May 26, 1971 in Alton. She was a 1990 graduate of Roxana High School. Tracy was an extremely hard worker and often held more than one job, many people knew her from the Roxana and East Gate Theaters, Auto Zone in Wood River and Alton, Envirotest Emissions Testing site and for the last 20 years at UPS in East Alton. She loved animals and volunteered at the Riverbend Humane Society. She couldn’t pass a stray animal on the road without stopping and trying to provide it shelter or find it someone to love them. She was an avid walker and often combined it with her love for animals by volunteering to walk her neighbor’s dogs, so they both could get exercise.
She is survived by her mother and father Sharon (Wieneke) and Merle Jackson of Wood River; brother, Timothy Wayne Walker, sisters, Cathy Walker and Theresa Jackson; many nieces and nephews and special a great aunt who was more like a friend Oleta Wieneke.
She was preceded in death by her biological father Terry Wayne Walker.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Paynic Home for Funerals where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow at Rose lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
