Barbara (Bobbe) E. Retzer, 88, passed away on Tuesday October 18 at Integrity Health Care of Wood River.
She was born on September 4, 1928 in Roodhouse, IL the daughter of the late Robert and Norma Rawlins.
Bobbe married Marion E. Retzer August 13, 1948 in Alton. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1999.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Bobbe was adored and loved by all that knew her. Bobbe was an avid dancer and a longtime member of Imerial Swing Dance Kids of Wood River. She loved reading and enjoyed crossword puzzles and other word games. She was kind, gentle and had a warm heart. She would do anything for anybody.
Bobbe is survived by two sons and a daughter in-law Tim (Becky) and Chris Retzer. Five grandchildren Sara and Mark Retzer, Stef and Chris Azzerello and Meagan Mudd. Two great-grandchildren Trinity and Ellie, a sister in-law Gertrude Watts of Girard, IL. and a nephew Dave Rice of Roxana.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters; Jeanne MacDonald, Patricia Rice and Rita Middleton.
Visitation will be from 9 am till time of service at 11 am, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL. With Pastor Charles West Officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
