Mildred M. Pervinsek, 103, of Staunton, IL, died at her residence on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:20 pm.
She was born July 6, 1917, in Staunton, IL to Thomas Mlekush & Emma (Fischer) Mlekush.
She married Edward Pervinsek on March 9, 1946, Staunton, IL. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1966.
Mildred was a graduate of St. Michael's Grade School, Staunton High School and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Alton. She was a post graduate of Maternity Nursing of Marquette University. During WWII, she was an instructor for the Cadet Nurse Corps. She was a maternal care health instructor for St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, IL. She was also a Lamaze instructor. She was a registered nurse for St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL after having worked for 47 years when she retired in 1982.
Mildred was a member of the St. Michael's Church and Women's Council. She was a member of the St. John's Retirees Club. She was a volunteer for HIS Service Station.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Erin Hawley of Seattle, WA, Joel (Veronica) Hawley of Wildwood, MO, great-grandchildren, Anya Hawley, Keira Hawley, Shealyn Hawley, Liam Hawley, sister, Loretta (Harold) Heigert of Staunton, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, daughter and son in law, Mary Kathryn & Scott Hawley, brothers, Raymond Mlekush and Edward Mlekush.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Michael's Church, Staunton, IL from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. Memorial mass will be on Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Michael's Church, Staunton, IL at 11:00 am.
