Loretta M. Worthen, 86 of Mitchell, IL., Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Loretta was born on October 30, 1933 in Mitchell, IL; the daughter of the late Leslie Joseph and Emily (LaRose) Jones. Loretta was a secretary at Reinhold & Gardner and a lifelong homemaker and mom who always took care of her family. Loretta will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
Loretta is survived by and will be missed by her husband of 65 years, John Worthen, whom she married on August 9, 1955; sons; Wayne and Kathy Worthen of Granite City, Rick and Donna Worthen of Granite City; grandchildren; Eric and Caitlin Worthen, Sarah and David Hecht, Stephanie and Michael Koishor, Christopher and Megan Worthen; great-grandchildren, Ben Worthen, Miles Worthen, Scarlett Hecht, Cameron Hecht; sister, Violet Clifton; brother-in-law, Bill Wiegand and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great nephews and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Wiegand and her brother-in-law, Bob Clifton.
In celebration of Loretta’s life, a private visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 with funeral services to follow at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
