Pamela K Spencer, 68, of White Hall died October 18, 2015 , at Jersey Community Hospital.
Pamela was born July 6, 1947 in Jacksonville to Gaylord T. and Betty C. Vandaveer. She married Dennis February 24, 1964 in White Hall.
Pam graduated from North Greene High School in 1964, going on to SIUE with a B.S. in special and elementary education in 1974, working as a substitute teacher with Jersey Unit 100. 5 years later she was certified as an E.M.T. through LCCC, working with Poleet Ambulance Services in Jerseyville. Finally, she graduated from the Nursing Program at LCCC in 1984.
She loved being a nurse at Jersey Community Hospital, where she worked for 29 years. She absolutely loved her job as the OB Nurse Manager until she retired in 2014.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, two daughters, Tracy Simpson and Trisha (Ryan) Edwards of Jerseyville, a sister, Vicki (John) Todd of Roodhouse, a niece Missy (Kevin) Nichols and their children, 5 grandchildren, Ethan Edwards, Josh Simpson, and Coty, Maddelynn, and Abbigail Spencer, and 3 great-grandchildren Emma, Rayven, and Scout Simpson.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gaylord and Betty, a son, Todd Spencer, nephew Brett Todd, and a grandson Justin Simpson.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4-8 pm at Alexander & Gubser Funeral home in Jerseyville where the funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 with Rev. Sonny Renken
Burial followed at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse.
Memorials may be made to the JCH foundation or Jersey County Relay for Life.
