FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced nighttime ramp closures at the Interstate 64 and Illinois 159 interchange in St. Clair County.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, the northbound Illinois 159 ramp to westbound I-64 will close. The ramp is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Friday, July 10, weather permitting.

The ramp will close again beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, and is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, July 13, weather permitting.

The ramp closures are required for road construction as part of ongoing improvements in the corridor.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
