ALTON — Marquette Catholic High School freshman William Waters is recognized as a Tucker's Automotive Repair & Tire Male Athlete of the Month after an outstanding 2026 spring tennis season.

At one point in the boys tennis season, he posted a 15-0 overall record across singles and doubles play and helped lead the Explorers' varsity team.

Marquette Catholic's athletic department congratulated Waters and said his boys tennis play had been dominant on the court during the spring season.

Waters, a freshman in 2026, also is a multi-sport athlete for Marquette Catholic. He earned Gateway Metro Conference All-Conference honors in soccer this past season. The future looks bright for William. He is expected to be a strong player on the soccer field in the fall of 2026 and spring of 2027 for the boys tennis squad.

He is the son of Matt and Lindsay Waters of Bethalto.
