TROY, IL- Eleven-year-old Gage is known for his kind heart, his willingness to help others, and his ability to make everyone around him feel welcome. Now, thanks to Wheelchairs 4 Kids and the generous sponsorship of Ainad Shriners and the Dana Beck Fancher Mission Fund, Gage has a new power wheelchair that is making everyday life and family travel easier.

Diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at just five years old, Gage faces increasing mobility challenges as his condition progresses. Yet his diagnosis does not define him. He is a boy with a big heart, a love for classic ’80s movies, country music, and adventures with his beloved Goldendoodle, Millie. Whether he is playing with his RC cars, swimming, or visiting his grandparents, Gage treasures the activities and connections that make life meaningful.

As Gage’s mobility needs increase, having the right equipment is essential. His new power wheelchair provides safe, reliable mobility while helping him conserve energy for the people and activities he loves. It also makes family outings more manageable, particularly because his family does not have a vehicle equipped with a wheelchair lift.

For Gage’s mom, the impact has already been significant. “Thank you for helping make my son more comfortable to travel,” she shared. “It has helped so much with traveling as we do not have a vehicle with a lift.”

Ainad Shriners and the Dana Beck Fancher Mission Fund sponsored the wheelchair, alongside Wheelchairs 4 Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to providing adaptive equipment to children with physical disabilities. By helping families access equipment suited to their children’s needs, the organization works to improve mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Gage’s mom expressed her appreciation for the support, saying, “You all are a wonderful company to work with.”

Thanks to the generosity of Ainad Shriners and the Dana Beck Fancher Mission Fund, Gage can continue sharing his kindness with the world while moving through it with greater independence.

Wheelchairs 4 Kids is dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities by providing wheelchairs, home and vehicle modifications, and other necessary medical equipment at no charge to their families through its Let’s Roll program.
