"To have earned the GCAA Team Academic Achievement Award for nine straight years is something to be very proud of," SIUE head coach Derrick Brown said. "Our guys work hard in the classroom and deserve to be recognized."

Programs must have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average to be considered for the award by the GCAA. The Cougars achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.36 for the 2017-18 school year.

On the course, SIUE earned two team titles during the 2018-19 season and finished with the second-lowest scoring average (290.3) in the OVC.

"I am proud of the success this team had on and off the golf course," Brown added.
