Womack’s sentencing hearing, originally scheduled for Sept. 28, 2026, was also rescheduled to 1 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2026 at the Jersey County Courthouse.

Womack was released from custody with an ankle monitor and ordered to reside with a family member after pleading guilty to a Class 3 felony count of aggravated battery in a public place and a Class 4 felony count of mob action in Jersey County court on Aug. 24, 2026.

Womack knowingly gathered with two other individuals, including another 18-year-old and a minor, and engaged in a “reckless use of force or violence” on Aug. 9, 2026. Womack also squirted the victim with a water gun while in a public place, the parking lot of the outdoor Jerseyville Mall, which spans 911 to 943 S. State St.

The second individual charged in relation to the incident, 18-year-old Lucas Roberts, is now scheduled for a sentencing hearing at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026.

Roberts was originally set to be sentenced on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026. Jersey County court records indicate his legal counsel’s motion to continue the sentencing hearing to a later date was allowed over the objection over the state.

On Aug. 9, 2026, Roberts gathered with Womack and filmed the same victim as they were being attacked in the Jerseyville Mall parking lot with the intent to disseminate the recording. Roberts also raised his hand during the incident, thereby placing the victim in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.

Roberts pleaded guilty on Aug. 31, 2026 to a Class 3 felony count of aggravated battery/video/audio recording, a Class 4 felony count of mob action and a Class C misdemeanor count of assault.

After entering his guilty plea, Roberts was released from custody and placed on Electronic Monitoring and home confinement conditions. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.
