The milestone will be recognized before the game, and Village President Rich Sauget Jr., who was the Grizzlies’ second manager in 2001, will throw out the first pitch.

The game will be followed by a drone and fireworks show. The drone show is sponsored by Beloman, located in Belleville, and is described as the first-ever drone show in St. Clair County, Illinois.

VIPs attending the event will receive commemorative wooden bats honoring the anniversary.

“The Village of Sauget and baseball are tightly entwined. For 25 of the 100 years of existence, we have been home to the Grizzlies,” Village President Richard Sauget Jr. said. “Celebrating at Arsenal BG Ballpark with all of our neighbors is the perfect way for us to gather and reflect on our collective history.”

Residents who would like to reserve tickets should contact Office Manager Lauren Kerperien.

Sauget has transitioned toward a diversified future. From family farms in the 1700s to factories in the early 20th century, the business park is home to logistics operations such as Amazon Distribution, FedEx and R+L Carriers, as well as light manufacturers such as MidWest NonWoven, Holten Meat, Sensient, Universal Air Filter and Stellar Manufacturing.

Supporting industries for the transportation sector include Hulcher, ITS ConGlobal and Peterbilt, along with other light manufacturing and office operations. The employers provide stable jobs and contribute to a regional economy that blends industry with opportunity.
