MILLSTADT, Ill. – After the largest-in-history $55.9 Billion FY 27 State Budget was signed into law by Governor Pritzker on June 16, 2026, State Representative Kevin Schmidt (R-Millstadt) issued the following statement.

“I am disappointed that Governor Pritzker signed a budget that will increase costs for Illinois families," said Schmidt. "This budget raises taxes another $800 million and will create more burdens for working families and businesses. I’m committed to fighting for lower taxes and finding solutions that move our state forward and give Illinois residents more opportunities to get ahead, not just get by.”

Representative Kevin Schmidt represents the 114th District, which includes a portion of St. Clair County.
