“I’m humbled to receive this recognition from NFIB, but more importantly, it’s a reminder of how much work still needs to be done to make Illinois a better place to start and grow a business,” said Senator Plummer. “Small businesses create the most jobs, invest in our communities and keep our local economies moving, yet they are too often overlooked in Springfield. I’ll continue working to make sure their concerns are heard and to push back against policies that make it harder to do business and provide quality jobs for Illinois families.”

Plummer earned a 100 percent voting record from NFIB during the 2025-2026 legislative session. Members of the NFIB Illinois Leadership Council, which is made up of small business owners from across the state, selected Plummer for the award based on his strong record of standing up for Illinois small businesses.

"Senator Plummer's knowledge of business issues makes him an effective advocate for Main Street businesses," said NFIB Illinois State Director Noah Finley. "Small business owners know he will stand up for their interests in Springfield, even when it means bucking powerful interest groups."
