Alward, a junior, has played volleyball since she was a freshman. She also played one year of softball.
It takes a lot of responsibility and dedication to balance academics and athletics, but Alward makes this look easy. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her three years in high school, an impressive accomplishment.
She is a member of the Spanish Club, which allows her to practice her skills and learn more about the world around her. She also recently joined the Pep Club, and she loves cheering on her classmates and supporting her school.
Alward volunteers as an assistant middle school softball coach. She also regularly helps lead volleyball camps during the summer months. It means a lot to her to give back and guide underclassmen.
Outside of school and her extracurricular activities, Alward enjoys spending time with her friends. She is still deciding exactly what she wants to do after high school, but no matter what she chooses, her teachers and loved ones know she will succeed.
“I’m unsure of my future plans,” she shared. “However, I’m considering studying radiology in college.”
Congratulations to Olivia for this recognition from Southwestern High School!
