GODFREY - A skilled nursing facility in Godfrey is under a new name with reenergized staff members and a renewed dedication to the community.

Nexus Health at Godfrey hosted a health fair on July 22, 2026, where community members could tour the facility and undergo basic health screenings. As residents and guests enjoyed the “Hotdogs, Hamburgers & Hometown Care” theme, administrators and aides reflected on the recent acquisition of Bria by Nexus Health and the new atmosphere that is encouraging them as they care for residents.
“People need to know that they can bring their family here,” said administrator Rikki Green. “They can trust us and know that we’re going to meet their needs and love them like they’re our own.”
Located at 1623 W. Delmar Avenue, Nexus Health at Godfrey offers both long-term residential care and short-term care therapy services. You can visit their official webpage for a full list of services and care options.
But the staff at Nexus go a step further than basic healthcare. Sharnice Sims, a restorative aide, noted that she has personal relationships with everyone at the facility and their families.
Sims was a caregiver for her grandparents, then realized she wanted to “take care of other people’s grandparents,” too. After her schooling, she started working at the Godfrey facility and can’t picture going anywhere else. Sometimes she even comes in on her days off to say hi and engage with the residents.
“I wish I had a big enough house to take them home,” she joked. “Everybody who comes into this facility is one big family.”
Missy Watson echoed Sims, adding that this can be literal; Watson’s own mother was a resident last year. Watson has worked at the facility since 1998 and, when her mother broke her hip, knew immediately that she needed to be at the Nexus building.
“I love this place,” she said. “It’s always had a small-town feel to me…I consider it like a second home because I’ve been here so long.”
This is a common theme at Nexus Health. Green agreed the residents are “definitely [her] second family,” and everyone at the facility cares for the people who live there.
Green, Sims and Watson also noted that the energy is changing under Nexus. The facility has been a cornerstone of the community for years, but Nexus’s leadership and dedication to Godfrey encourage the staff every day. They are eager to see how the Nexus Health at Godfrey community continues to grow.
“Things are really, really going good here,” Green added. “We are all working as one unit, and that really means a lot.”
