This year's convention theme, "We the People," is a reminder that equal rights, quality education, accessible healthcare, and diversity, equity, and inclusion are within reach when communities come together with a shared commitment to action.

The three-day convention will bring together NAACP members, community leaders, advocates, elected officials, organizations, businesses, and residents from across Illinois for meaningful conversations and strategy development on some of the most pressing issues facing our communities. Featured areas of focus include health, legal redress, housing, education, and veteran affairs. A U.S. Senate Candidate Forum is also scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026.

This year's keynote speaker for the Black and White Gala is Leon W. Russell, Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors.
