MORO - Authorities identified 80-year-old Susan Treadway of Moro as the adult found deceased after multiple area fire departments responded Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, to a massive house explosion in the 100 block of Vine Street in Moro, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said.
Several other nearby homes were damaged after the explosion. All other residents and neighbors are safe and accounted for, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal personnel, multiple fire department personnel, and deputies responded to the scene.
The case remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison County Coroner’s Office, and the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
