
EDWARDSVILLE - Montclaire Swim Club took its final Southwestern Illinois Swimming Association cross-town meet over Sunset Hills Country Club on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, with an overall score of 417-129 at Montclaire. The Marlins' boys team won over Sunset Hills 223-23.

The two teams engaged in their final dual meet before the SWISA Championship meet, which will be held on July 19, 2026, at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center at Edwardsville High School, with the Marlins serving as the host club.
In the boys' races, Montclaire took charge in the meet and pulled away fast. In the eight-and-under age division, Gavin Sweet of the Marlins won the 50-meter freestyle at 55.50 seconds, while the Marlins won the 100-meter medley relay at 1:51.57, Montclaire's Sebastian Pellegrini-Heath won the 25-meter backstroke with a time of 28.34 seconds, and also won the 25-meter freestyle at 20.78 seconds, teammate Jack Ferguson won the 25-meter breaststroke at 30.69 seconds, Logan Hutchens of the Marlins took the 25-meter butterfly with a time of 28.66 seconds, and the Marlins won the 100-meter freestyle relay at 1:29.44.
In the nine-and-10 age group, Aiden Flynn won the first race of the meet for the Stingrays, taking the 100-meter freestyle at 1:37.75, with the Marlins winning the 100-meter medley relay at 2:01.10, Montclaire's Lincoln Seay winning the 100-meter individual medley at 2:26.84, teammate Conrad Shaffer won the 50-meter freestyle at 45.13 seconds, Seay brought home the 50-meter backstroke win at 1:14.13, Flynn won the 50-meter breaststroke at 1:05.22, then won his third race of the night with the 50-meter butterfly at 59.79 seconds, and the Marlins won the 100-meter freestyle relay at 1:39.34.
The 11-and-12-year-old races saw Cameron Stowe of the Marlins win the 100-meter freestyle at 1:17.75, while Montclaire won the 200-meter medley relay at 2:51.72, Hudson Little of the Marlins took the 100-meter individual medley at 1:27.75, teammate Alex Haskell won the 50-meter freestyle at 34.59 seconds, Montclaire's Cooper Hutchens won the 50-meter backstroke at 41.00 seconds, Little took home the 50-meter breaststroke at 45.94 seconds, Hutchens won the 50-meter butterfly at 39.46 seconds, and Montclaire took the 200-meter freestyle relay at 2:20,25.
In the 13-and-14 age group, the Marlins' Jack Frea won the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:29.56, with Montclaire taking the 13-18 200-meter medley relay at 2:25,18, Caiden Calvin of Montclaire won the 50-meter freestyle at 28.44 seconds, Max Ferguson of the Marlins won the 50-meter backstroke at 46.97 seconds, Calvin won the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 40.57 seconds, the 50-meter butterfly went to Calvin at 32.75 seconds, and the 13-18 200-meter freestyle relay was won by the Marlins at 2:17.25.
In the 15-18-year-old division, Montclaire's Aiden Clark took the 100-meter individual medley at 1:31.18, the 50-meter freestyle at 35.40 seconds, and the 50-meter breaststroke at 44.44 seconds to make it a clean sweep of the age group's events.
