For his hard work, Malik Pollard is a Student of the Month for the Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7.
Pollard is a junior at Edwardsville High School. He has played football and been a member of the track and field team since he was in middle school.
It takes a lot of responsibility and discipline to manage high school sports, but Pollard makes this look easy. He works hard at every game, meet and practice.
He also keeps his grades up and presents himself as a kind student. He has made waves at Edwardsville High School for his dedication and positive presence, so much so that he was chosen to serve as a tour guide for incoming students. This role demonstrates his school community's confidence in Pollard's ability to succeed.
Outside of school, Pollard holds a part-time job at a local restaurant. He enjoys fishing, listening to music, watching television and going on walks.
He is still deciding what he wants to do after graduation. Whatever he decides, his teachers and loved ones already know he will do a fantastic job. Just as they do during his meets and games, they will be cheering him on.
