Miller, a senior, has spent two years as backstage manager and in a leading male role with the Drama Club. He also participates on the scholar bowl team and enjoys learning American Sign Language and Spanish through clubs at Southwestern.
He plays soccer and runs on the track and field team. It takes a lot of responsibility to navigate sports and school, but Miller does so gracefully. He was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service.
But Miller is perhaps most proud of his accomplishments as a musician. He has been a part of the district’s band program for years, and he made all-district for three of those years. He plays in the jazz and brass bands, and he has received impressive scores at the solo and ensemble competitions every year of his high school career.
He is currently a section leader in the school band, and he has received an “outstanding player” recognition every year. Outside of school, he plays at his church every Sunday and participates in the St. Louis Brass Band.
When Miller isn’t busy, he can be found working for his father’s construction company, playing video games, and organizing the family barn. He has big dreams for life after high school. His teachers and loved ones know he will do great things.
“I plan to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology for either aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering,” he shared.
Congratulations to Knox for this recognition from Southwestern High School!
