JERSEYVILLE – Jerseyville businesses can give their storefronts a festive makeover for a chance to win a returning contest and attract customers this holiday season.

Downtown Country Christmas Festival Inc. is preparing to host its second annual Best Business Holiday Window Contest, with a registration deadline of 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026.
There is no cost to participate in the contest, which is open to all Jerseyville businesses. Participating businesses can paint or decorate their windows.
The winner will be chosen by the public, with voting taking place during the Jersey County Business Association’s 12 Days of Christmas from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11, 2026. A traveling trophy, a tray of holiday cookies and bragging rights will be awarded to the winning business.
The contest and all participating businesses will be promoted on social media and in an insert that will be handed out during the Downtown Country Christmas Festival and distributed to area businesses. Last year’s contest brought 582 visitors into participating businesses to vote for their favorite decorated windows.
