JERSEYVILLE - Jersey Community High School has earned an Exemplary designation on the Illinois School Report Card for the first time, receiving the state’s highest rating under a new framework that evaluates multiple measures of school performance. Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100 announced the recognition at the high school’s Halloween assembly and fashion show, according to a district announcement.
The designation from the Illinois State Board of Education reflects measures including academic proficiency, student growth, graduation rates, attendance and school culture.

“This is an achievement to be celebrated by the entire Jersey Community!” the district said in its announcement.
Beginning with the 2026 Illinois Report Card, the state board introduced the Profile of Performance, an accountability framework that considers core indicators such as composite academic proficiency, student growth and graduation rates. Additional measures include consistent attendance, English learner progress and school climate.
The framework uses a broader set of performance indicators rather than limiting Exemplary designations to a fixed percentage of schools. It brings together multiple measures to identify strengths, priorities and opportunities for improvement, with the goal of supporting continuous improvement in every school.
Because the methodology has changed, this year’s school performance levels should not be considered directly comparable to designations from previous years.
