SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Department of Public Health on Tuesday and Wednesday announced two additional COVID-19 deaths in Macoupin County and two in Madison County.

On Wednesday, IDPH said a Macoupin County female in her 80s died in the past 24 hours. On Tuesday, IDPH reported a Macoupin County female in her 70s died and a male in his 80s and a female in her 90s died from COVID-19 in Madison County. IDPH reported a combined 66 new COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday and Wednesday.

IDPH today announced 2,128 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 27 additional confirmed deaths.

The summary of deaths statewide from COVID-19 on Wednesday were as follows:

Adams County: 1 male 80s

Christian County: 1 female 90s

Cook County: 1 male 50s, 1 female 70s, 3 males 70s, 1 female 80s, 2 males 80s

Crawford County: 1 male 70s

DuPage County: 1 male 60s, 2 males 80s

Ford County: 1 male 70s

Jefferson County: 1 female 80s

Kane County: 1 female 80s

Lake County: 1 male 70s

LaSalle County: 1 female 60s, 1 female 90s

Macoupin County: 1 female 80s?- Montgomery County: 1 male 90s

Perry County: 1 female 80s

Rock Island County: 1 female 90s

St. Clair County: 2 females 80s

Williamson County: 1 female 90s

The IDPH on Tuesday announced 1,492 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 39 additional confirmed deaths.

Madison County: 1 male 80s, 1 female 90s

Mercer County: 1 male 90s

Morgan County: 1 female 80s, 1 female 90s

Moultrie County: 1 male 80s

Rock Island County: 1 female 60s, 1 male 70s, 1 male 80s

Sangamon County: 1 female 80s, 1 male 90s

Tazewell County: 1 female 70s

Vermilion County: 1 male 60s

Will County: 1 male 60s

Williamson County: 1 female 70s

Winnebago County: 1 female 80s

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 238,643 cases, including 8,091 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from August 26 – September 1 is 4.5%. As of last night, 1,596 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 347 patients were in the ICU and 142 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 32,751 specimens for a total of 4,119,873.
