From 12–3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, Coldwell Banker Brown Realtors will host their 10th annual Howl-O-Ween at Partners for Pets. Attendees can tour the Partners for Pets space at 9136 Lower Marine Road in St. Jacob, meet with adoptable pets, and enjoy a variety of fun activities like balloon art, face painting, live music and more.

“The thing is, we find people homes. So we figure, what the heck, we’ll find dogs and cats homes, too,” joked John McNamara with Coldwell Banker Brown Realtors (CBBR).

As part of this event, McNamara and Amy McGarr explained that CBBR agents sponsor animals in the care of Partners for Pets every year. The sponsorships cover the costs of spay/neuter services, vaccines, and other medical care needed to prepare the animals for adoption.

The Howl-O-Ween event caps off the sponsorship season while also raising money and awareness for Partners for Pets. Over the years, CBBR has raised over $47,000 for the organization and helped nearly 300 pets find homes.

On Oct. 10, community members can adopt pets for a reduced fee of $25. Partners for Pets will also host a vaccine and microchipping clinic during the event, so you can take care of your pet’s needs. If you’ve been planning to add a furry friend to your family, said McGarr and McNamara, this weekend is the perfect chance to do so.

Additionally, families can enjoy games, balloon art, face painting, pumpkin painting, live music by Brasswell-Thompson & Friends and more. The Tree House Wildlife Center will be onsite with a few animal friends to meet. The Troy Police Department will bring their emotional support K9, Salina, as well.

Halloween costumes are encouraged. There will also be a raffle and food for sale. All proceeds go back to Partners for Pets.

McGarr said several CBBR agents have adopted animals through Partners for Pets, and it’s an important cause for their team. They care about giving back to the community and helping these animals. McGarr thanked Patty Barney, a representative with Partners for Pets, for her work in the community.

“Unfortunately, there’s just not enough homes and adoptions for the amount of pets that are around,” McGarr said. “Patty’s organization does a great job in helping save them and keep them alive.”

Barney expressed her appreciation for CBBR. She noted that partnerships with businesses mean a lot to the nonprofit.

She also emphasized that the event on Oct. 10 is “super family-friendly” and plenty of fun. Whether you plan to adopt a pet or just want to come by to enjoy the day, Barney, McGarr and McNamara hope to see you there.

“It’s super family friendly, a good time for everybody,” Barney said. “It’s just a pretty day outside and having a lot of fun and supporting a great cause and really helping Coldwell Banker Brown Realtors to see their yearly mission with us, which is fantastic.”
