By afternoon, the heat takes over. The high reaches about 95, and it may feel as warm as 102 at times. A stray thunderstorm is possible in parts of the area, mainly during the hotter part of the day, with a 55% chance of rain. Winds stay fairly light out of the WSW at around 7 mph, with gusts near 14 mph. If you are spending time outside, take breaks and stay hydrated.

Into the evening, any isolated storm chance fades, leaving partly cloudy skies and warm, humid air hanging around. Temperatures ease back slowly after sunset, so it will still feel uncomfortable for a while.

Overnight, conditions stay partly cloudy, warm and humid, with a low near 71 and only a small chance of rain.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect through Saturday evening. Heat index values could reach as high as 106.

The allergy index is low today. Main allergens include mold, ragweed, grass and tree pollen, though all are currently in the low range.

Friday brings another hot day, with a high near 92 and a low around 70. There is another chance for a spotty thunderstorm, but much of the day looks partly sunny, hot and humid.
