GODFREY - You can enjoy a night of music bingo while supporting a local animal rescue.

On Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, community members can join Hope Animal Rescues for their music bingo night at the Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club in Godfrey. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m. It costs $25 per player, and all proceeds go toward helping Hope Animal Rescues save dogs on the day they are to be euthanized.
“It’s going to be a blast,” said Jackie Spiker, director of Hope Animal Rescues. “We have to have these fundraisers in order to still participate in pulling dogs and saving their lives and getting them healthy and finding them a way home.”
Your ticket includes four cards for 10 games, a dauber, draft and soda. The music bingo night invites attendees to bring their own food, coffee and sealed water bottles. The kitchen at the Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club will be open.
You can purchase additional bingo cards for $5. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
All proceeds go back to Hope Animal Rescues. Located in the Riverbend, the rescue takes in dogs from animal control facilities and shelters on the day they are to be euthanized. The rescue takes care of these dogs and works to find them a home.
Spiker highlighted the importance of donations and fundraisers like this. The rescue takes all their dogs to the vet, which costs about $330 per dog. If the dog has any medical issue, the vet bills can stretch into the thousands. Their adoption fees are only $275, and this money goes toward the vet bills.
The fundraisers and donations help Hope Animal Rescues manage additional veterinary costs, utility bills and other expenses. Spiker is hopeful the music bingo fundraiser raises enough money to help them navigate this.
“It will raise enough to make a huge difference,” she said. “Plus, it’ll be fun for everybody. Rescue can be sad and heartbreaking. We try to do some fun things that are just lighthearted.”

She encourages the community to come out and support their work. She believes not only will the music bingo fundraiser be a lot of fun, but it will also help a lot of dogs.
“We couldn’t do what we do without the people in our community,” she added. “It’s a win-win for everybody.”
